Barakamon

Seishu Handa is a master of Japanese calligraphy. Having won numerous awards and the eternal recognition of his peers, he seems to have it all: beauty, youth, talent… Except for one detail: he is impeccably arrogant. When a museum curator criticizes his art, he doesn't hesitate to knock him out, thus putting his own career in danger… Seishu is then sent to a small Japanese island to atone for his crime. There, in the middle of the Japanese countryside, young Seishu hopes to find tranquility and finally unleash his creativity. But he is sorely mistaken… Who said the countryside was a peaceful place?
