Cosmic Era year 70. It has been a year and a half since the war began between the Naturals and the Coordinators, and the conflicts have only continued to worsen. On Heliopolis, a neutral space colony, Kira Yamato, a young Coordinator, and his friends seem to be living happy days far from these tensions... However, secret Mobile Suit prototypes belonging to the Earth Alliance are being developed on this colony, and ZAFT, the Coordinators' army, does not intend to let this happen...
