Ookami to Koushinryou
Lawrence is a traveling merchant who sells furs and trades goods. Due to his work, he returns to the village of Pasroe at the time of the harvest festival. Unlike the rest of the country, the inhabitants are pagans and believe in a wolf deity: Horo.
Legend has it that a pact was made between men and wolves to ensure the proper harvesting of wheat when it reached its expected maturity. However, due to new methods invented, the villagers no longer have any difficulty harvesting wheat. They have thus ended up no longer taking the legend seriously and no longer truly believing in Horo's existence. As he prepares to leave the village, Lawrence discovers a young woman with wolf ears and a tail at the back of his cart. She introduces herself as the deity of the place and, since the inhabitants no longer seem to need her, asks Lawrence to take her with him. A new partnership between man and wolf then forms, allowing these two very different characters to understand each other mutually.
